Talk about a time that you did something that was out of the norm. How did people react, and what was it.

Prompt- For my example, when I was in middle school, everyone was just starting to get phones and social media. This was in 6th grade and I didn't have a phone yet. So for entertainment, I would bring books to read in class. Every time we ended class early, while other kids took out their phones, I pulled out my book to read. Nobody really paid me attention, but i felt disconnected from people because I didn't fit in the right way. But sometimes when people saw me reading they would say the infamous "I haven't read a book since 3rd grade" which always leas me to feel a funny feeling.  Summary- We analyzed Emily Dickinson's poem, and found the hidden meanings.  Reflection- I learned better how to find hidden messages in poems.

Dickinson uses the metaphor of a funeral to describe her inner struggles. What metaphor would you use to describe your own mind?

Prompt-  Dickinson uses the metaphor of a funeral to describe her inner struggles. What metaphor would you use to describe your own mind?  Prompt- For my metaphor it would use: Her mind is a subway station, crowded and busy.  Summary- I had assignments on common-lit that I did for the whole class.  Reflection- I learned more about themes and picking out important details.

Prompt- write about an adventure you would like to go on.

Prompt- Write about an adventure you would like to go on.         An adventure that I would love to do on is going backpacking across Europe. There are so many different adventures and new things to try. The countries there have such a rich culture and it's different from our culture. I wanna try the amazing food they have over there also. The sights to be seen in these countries are beautiful and vast. Just the whole experience alone seems like such an adventure and I would love to experience it. Summary- We had a quiz that was said wasn't going to happen, and the answer was all one letter.  Reflection- My reflection of today's class was to always be prepared for anything that can happen. Always have the material studied and memorized for surprises.

Describe something you will never fully understand

Prompt- Describe something you will never fully understand  Something I will never understand is why high schools don't require/ offer classes that offer essential lessons that we will need in late life. Classes with financial lessons to teach us lessons about managing money. Classes about taxes and housing. Classes about finance could cover ways to write a check or properly tip at restaurants. Even if schools do offer these classes i think that some of these should be required for graduation. Using and having formulas that would be useful for m=finance and housing numbers can be helpful for real world interaction though. summary- Today we presented out posters for our origin myth reflection- I learned and took in how everyone's origin myths tied into their theme.

Prompt- Write about something you wish you had more of.

Write about something you wish you had more of   Prompt. I wish I had a more peaceful mind. My mind is always rushing rushing rushing. I get anxious really easily, with anything between homework and thinking someone is following me home. My mind is rarely at rest. I'm always thinking about something or I have to think ahead to manage my time. Not having to worry about nothing is a peaceful kind of feeling I love to feel. I have school, and dance, and homework everyday to struggle with summary- Today we worked on our posters for our origin myths reflection- learning how to navigate Adobe better is something I learned today.

What is the most creative thing you have ever made? Share what it was and why it stands out to you as your best work.

Prompt- What is the most creative thing you have ever made? Share what it was and why it stands out to you as your best work.   One of the most creative things I have made was in 8th grade. In 8th grade science class we had a project to create a mini roller coaster, and they were tested with a marble to see if they worked. Me and my group worked very hard and our roller coaster was space themed, and even had a loop in the tracks. It was made of small pool noodles for a supportive track, making sure to keep the marble in the roller-coaster. . The roller coaster was glued onto a poster that we painted to look like outer space. We had stickers of planets to make it look even more realistic. Our roller coaster was named the Shooting Star. And it stands out to me because it was super impressive and it functioned just like it was supposed to.  Summary- In class today I finished up my origin myths and I started working on my poster that is connected to my origin myth....

Prompt-  Everyone has burning questions about life. Mysteries we wonder about but don’t always have clear answers for. Think about your biggest questions about existence, purpose, or the world around you. Write a blog post where you share at least two of your most burning questions about life and explain why these questions matter to you.  One of my personal burning questions that I have about life is there other life forms out in space. There are billions of galaxies in our universe. This is important to me because I am curious if there are aliens in the world because I think its very interesting. Another question I have is how do we know we have not had another life before this we just have no memory. We could have lived before this and had no idea. This is just something I think about a lot and am curious about.  summary- we worked on creating our own origin myths  Reflection- I learned how to incorporate different elements into a creative story

It was finally time to preform and it went well. But when I got done to find my parents I couldn't find them everywhere. I was surrounded with people taller and I felt so lost. I didn't know where my family went and I was searching for a while it felt like. I was so scared and lost but I just kept looking around. I finally found them and they scolded me for running off. I was just glad that I had found them and that I wasn't lost.  Summary- Today in class we presented our PowerPoint on the origin myths.  Reflection- I learned more about the setting in the story. Analyze how you’ve adapted to the demands of this course over the past week, and evaluate one strength and one challenge you anticipate as we progress, justifying your insights with personal examples.

Prompt-  Analyze how you’ve adapted to the demands of this course over the past week, and evaluate one strength and one challenge you anticipate as we progress, justifying your insights with personal examples.  Some ways that I've adapted to this course is learning how to balance the work from this class. If I have extra time in this class I start working on the blog post. That way I can get it out of the way quickly and not have to worry about it the rest of the day. One strength that I have is being able to catch on the themes and follow quickly how the stories are moving. One challenge I think that I'll have in this class is more complex writing. I'm trying to improve my writing skills and be able to use more complex words and sentences.  Summary-  Today we took a quiz about origin myths.  Reflection- Something I learned is that origin myths and creation myths is that creating myths are more specific and origin myths are kinda more broad.

Describe a real-life situation in which jealousy negatively affected a relationship you experienced.

We were walking on the beach together and I felt lonely because my sisters were walking with my mom and dad and I felt like I was dragging behind. I felt jealous that my sister were walking my my parents and not me. So I got angry and said something that hurt my sister's feelings. I felt ashamed afterwards and apologized to her. It was meaningful to me because my parents gave it to me when I was really young. When I was younger I would always hold my little bunny stuffed animal when I was scared or sad. It helped me feel safer. I really liked how soft my little bunny was and I would bring it everywhere with me. It was a really key part of my childhood because it provided a safe item to hold onto. My favorite part of my little bunny stuffed animal was that it was my parents who gave it to me.   Summary- Today in class we read a short myth, about different worlds and people who traveled to them through a large husk.    Reflection- I learned how easy it is to blend an allusion into a story or a myth. Write about a time when you felt connected to nature, like the kinship in Native American myths

Prompt- Write about a time when you felt connected to nature, like the kinship in Native American myths   Prompt Response- A time that I felt connected with nature was when I was in elementary school, on earth day we would go outside and help clean up the plastic and trash on the road or around the forest. We would put the plastic and trash that we found and put them inside bags to put them into the trash where they belong. By taking and picking up the trash it felt like we were helping the earth. It's important to help the earth because it gives us so much beauty and life, so we need to give back to it too.   Summary-  Today we looked at a PowerPoint about Native American literature and some of their lifestyles.  Reflection- I relearned that Native Americans would always tell their stories with their words and not write them down.
