Write about a time when you realized you needed to look out for yourself in a silly or harmless situation—maybe dodging a pop quiz, escaping a group chat argument, or remembering at the last second to submit an assignment. How did choosing wisely make your life easier?

Write about a time when you realized you needed to look out for yourself in a silly or harmless situation. How did choosing wisely make your life easier? One time that I was looking out for myself was when I thought that I was almost done with all my homework, so I was about to scroll on my phone and just relax, but then I remembered that I forgot to do my math homework. So instead of deciding to save it for later, I just did it after I took a short break, so that I would not worry about doing it later. It made my life easier because I had an easier week because of my decision to finish that work so I would not have to worry about it later.  Summary- Today we read the rest of the short story The Life You Save May Be Your Own, and watched a short film adaptation of it.  Reflection- Learning how to read and properly analyze short stories.

Write about a moment when new information changed your perception of a person or situation. How did that “plot twist” reshape your understanding, the same way Faulkner’s ending reshapes the story?

Write about a moment when new information changed your perception of a person or situation. How did that “plot twist” reshape your understanding, the same way Faulkner’s ending reshapes the story?  When I was in 8th grade, I was really close with two other girls and we were a trio. But I wasn't in the same classes as these friends, so like all trios the other two girls got closer while I felt father away. But despite that we still seemed to stay good friends. But one of the girls always seemed more distant when It came to me and talking to me. And I always felt left out when them two would just hang out on their own without me. And I could always know because they would ride the same bus aw me. Well later on in 9th grade we kinda had a falling out, with me still being friends with one of the girls. While me and J was talking, I found out that my other toxic friend was talking bad about me behind my back and saying how annoying I am so she never wanted to invite me to their h...

Write about the most shocking or “craziest” news story you have ever heard. What happened, and why did it stand out to you? How did people react to it, and what does it reveal about human behavior?

Write about the most shocking or “craziest” news story you have ever heard. What happened, and why did it stand out to you? How did people react to it, and what does it reveal about human behavior? There was a news story about how a closed down Marine-land was found with 2 orca's  and 12 dolphins still living in the park, without human supervision and just left there with no help. I think it is so terrible how they were just left there even with the whole park gone and abandoned. And worse these sea animals are in small spaces and just circling around over and over again. When this reached like main news, so many people were so disappointed in the conditions of these animals and imminently tried to help them . I think that it made me feel so much compassion for these poor animals and the people trying to help, but to the people who left them there, it was so cruel of them to do that. I think that it reveals how people can come together for anything to support anything and I ...

Describe a place that holds deep memories for you—positive or negative—and explain how it reflects part of who you are or how you’ve changed over time.

Describe a place that holds deep memories for you—positive or negative—and explain how it reflects part of who you are or how you’ve changed over time. The first  place that  i thought of was my old house. I lived in my old house for like the first 4 and a half years of my life. It was really the core of my memories and most of my first memories were there. It reflects who i am because it was my first home, and many of my very younger childhood pictures of me was taken there. It kinda reflects change because now, i am older and living in a different house. I am more mature and changed. But when i remember that place, i think of childhood and wonderful fun memories.  summary- today we started reading and analyzing the new short story, and answer questions about the text. refelction-  analyzing the lines in between the stories, and truly  understanding what the  story means.

Write about a time you saw or heard one of these words outside of the classroom — maybe in a movie, song, social media post, or book. Describe how it was used and whether the context helped you understand the word better.

Write about a time you saw or heard one of these words outside of the classroom — maybe in a movie, song, social media post, or book. Describe how it was used and whether the context helped you understand the word better. In elemnetry school we would be learning about caterpillars and butterflies. We would learn about their process of transformation called metamorphosis. The process in which the Caterpillar would transform into a beautiful butterfly. the change called  metamorphosis.  metamorphosis really means change, and it kept on reminding me that that was the big change that the caterpillar went through. It also reminds me how even though change may seem scary or constrictive, it can be beautiful in the end.  summary-  we did vocabulary in class today reflection- I  learned many new words and their meanings.

which parent or guardian in your life has been the strictest when it comes to discipline? Explain how their approach to discipline has influenced you or shaped your behavior.

which parent or guardian in your life has been the strictest when it comes to discipline? Explain how their approach to discipline has influenced you or shaped your behavior. Both of my parents were pretty strict when i was growing up, but my dad was probably more strict with discipline. He was the one who gave me and my siblings spankings and would be strict with punishments. Their approach to discipline definitely shaped me into the person i am today. My parents are definitely much less strict now and have given us lots of freedom to grow and not be punished. But i think punishments are something that kids should get as a lesson to learn not to do wrong actions. It keeps them disciplined and better behaved.  summary- we worked on our power point presentation of the rock-pile short story.  reflection- Learning interesting background of the story of the rockpile

what is something your parents forbade you from doing when you were growing up? Explain what it was and why they might have set that rule.

what is something your parents forbade you from doing when you were growing up? Explain what it was and why they might have set that rule. Something that my parents forbade me to do was to never open or answer the front door when the door bell rang. I think this was very reasonable and something to keep us safe. Random strangers could take us away and its very questionable and unsafe for a kid to open the door. It would be giving the stranger an opportunity to see the child and it could be very dangerous for the child. I feel like I've heard and seen so many stories of stranger asking kids if their parents are home and then they get taken and hurt.  summary- we read and prepped to read a short story in class today reflection- thinking about the inner themes of the story and think about the past and my childhood.

Think about a time when learning a new word or understanding a specific term helped you better analyze a text, express an idea, or make your writing stronger.

Think about a time when learning a new word or understanding a specific term helped you better analyze a text, express an idea, or make your writing stronger. I cannot think of a specific time when this happened but more in my high school years when i would find myself repeating words, I will look up powerful synonyms and alternative words for the word that i was repeating. Putting better vocabulary in my essays or assignments would help support and bring more powerful messages and understandings of the assignment. I really like doing this because of how it makes my writing feel different and more expressive through bigger words. summary- in class we did lots of vocabulary work. reflection- learning new words and how to incorporate them in sentences.

Reflect on a time when you paused to appreciate the beauty of nature, Where were you, what did you notice, and how did that moment of stillness make you feel or change your perspective?

Where were you, what did you notice, and how did that moment of stillness make you feel or change your perspective? It was just turning fall, and i was walking my dogs around the neighborhood, and i just looked around and I noticed all the leaves turning beautiful colors. They were so bright and vibrate and the sun was out and shining through the trees. It made me appreciate the slower moments in life, because i feel like everyone tries to rush past slow parts of their life even though there is so much beauty to it. I was really in awe of the raw beauty that i saw just walking down the street. I feel like people do not stop to appreciate the beauty that is in front of them.  summary- we worked on our poem one pagers and analyzed our poems we received. reflection- learning the deeper meaning of the poem that i had.
