If you were to compose a poem about one aspect of your life, which topic would it fall into and what would your overall life's message be?

Prompt- If I had to write a poem, I think that the aspect of life I would focus on would be relationships, specifically friendships. I feel so much love for my friends and they are so important to me, so I think my topic for the poem would be love. I think the overall message would be something like "surround yourself with people who will grow alongside you, in every season. Then I would use flowers in my poem to represent the people in my life. Who grow alongside me and are with me even when I wilt. 

Summary-  Today we annotated and analyzed more poems by Emily Dickinson. 

Reflection- I liked finding the themes and uncovering all the different meaning within the poem. I like how things could look different when you just took at them quickly instead of really trying to uncover the underlying meaning.

Prompt: Describe a time when you took a hiatus from something important. What led to the break, and how did it impact you?

In seventh grade, me and my best friend had sort of a fight.  It was a stupid argument, and it was during the summer. After our fight we didn't really talk for the rest of the summer. I was really scared that i would lose my best friend because of this. But i realized that if our friendship could crumble after one little fight, lour friendship would not have gone anywhere. I thought that we were really good friends, but i realized how friendship didn't have any real foundation. So that was my hiatus, a break from a friendship. And it taught me value strong friendships and make sure to build them strongly. And now she is still my best friend to this day.  summary- We learned more rhetoric elements reflection- learning more of the meanings of these elements.

  Prompt: In  Into the Wild , Christopher McCandless gives up many of his possessions in pursuit of freedom and meaningful experiences. If you had to simplify your life and keep only a few important possessions, what would you keep and why? What would be hardest to leave behind? The important possessions that I would keep would be like my blanket, my car, my dogs, my apple products like my airpods, phone, macbook, and apple watch, and money and my bed. And the hardest thing to give up would probably have to be like all my excessive clothes and like all the things I have in my room. But if I had to choose something from the list I would say my bed. I love my bed very much and I would not want to give that up.  Summary- Today we read the first chapter of the book and then answered 10 questions about the chapter.  Reflection- learning never to go on a hike and be irresponsible like the man in the book was.
