Prompt: What challenges did your group face while selecting and analyzing sources, and how did you overcome them? Be specific about how your group communicated and worked through disagreements.

Prompt: What challenges did your group face while selecting and analyzing sources, and how did you overcome them? Be specific about how your group communicated and worked through disagreements. Some challenges that my group faced were deciding  which source would be the best. Since we had three people there where 3 different choices of sources to choose from and it got hard at some times. To overcome this challenge we all discussed the pros and cons in each of the sources to help narrow it down for everyone.  Like for example, for the data/statists everyone had a good source that showed very credible and impressive data. They were all helpful and gave great information that we all could have used so we had trouble. We eventually chose the data that was the easiest to read and understand. We decided this as a group because we collectively knew that it would be easiest to extract information from. Summary- Choosing sources for our group for the research.  Reflection-...

Prompt: Reflect on your research topic and identify the most compelling issue connected to it. Clearly explain what the issue is and discuss why you find it particularly interesting or important. Support your response with specific details from your research.

Prompt:  Reflect on your research topic and identify the most compelling issue connected to it. Clearly explain what the issue is and discuss why you find it particularly interesting or important. Support your response with specific details from your research. My research topic is parenting styles. So for the research I have been doing have been on the four major parenting styles that are recognized and how they affect the child and their development . I have been researching about how child aggression can stem from the parents and how to handle it. I find this topic to be interesting because most everyone grows up with a guardian or someone that looks out for them even if its not a parent, and its interesting to see how the person who raised you can affect what kinda of person that you become. When I was trying to find the sources for my research I found some pretty interesting articles about how to handle change within the family or even about how when the father is presen...

Prompt: How has completing the annotated bibliography changed or clarified your understanding of your research topic? Discuss how your sources connect to one another and how they are shaping your argument moving forward

Prompt: How has completing the annotated bibliography changed or clarified your understanding of your research topic? Discuss how your sources connect to one another and how they are shaping your argument moving forward Through completing my annotated bibliography I am able to fully understand all the different views and options on my research topic: parenting styles. When I was reading though the sources I was able to understand ow parenting affects the child and the development. I learned about how to help your child with behaviors and more. All my sources connect with each other  by the one big topic hat connects them all which is parenting. Most of my sources also reinforce the same thing which is how positive parenting is positive for your child rather than authoritarian parenting .  Summary- Finishing the annotated bibliography. Reflection- Learning more to look for reliable sources.

Prompt: Which part of the annotated bibliography (summary, reflection, or evaluation) was the most challenging for you, and why? Explain how that challenge helped you grow as a researcher and how it will help you when writing your research paper.

Prompt: Which part of the annotated bibliography (summary, reflection, or evaluation) was the most challenging for you, and why? Explain how that challenge helped you grow as a researcher and how it will help you when writing your research paper. The most challenging part of the bibliography was probably the evaluation. It was challenging to find proof of credible sources that the author used for their sources especially if it seemed like it was leaning towards a certain opinion. With that in mind I keep an eye out for good cited sources and checked if the person was credible though the information provided from the from the cite. Writing with credible sources is super important because you need to make sure that the information you are giving in your research is true and not sourced from a not trusted cite.  Summary- We started on the annotated bibliography  Reflection- Learning how to write the annotated  bibliography

Prompt: As you gathered sources, you were expected to find multiple perspectives on your topic. What differences did you notice between your sources? Explain how these differences helped you better understand the complexity of your issue.

Prompt: As you gathered sources, you were expected to find multiple perspectives on your topic. What differences did you notice between your sources? Explain how these differences helped you better understand the complexity of your issue. There are many different sources talking about good parenting and how they positively affect childhood and how the child is positively effected by this. I have also seen some sources talking about negative parenting and the negative effects I can have on the children. With both sides of a topic it will be harder to have a bias on a certain perspective. And with the number of different sources I can fully understand how everyone has different experiences and it is actually a very complex and very wide thought of topic that is highly discussed.  Summary- We did more researching for our project.  Reflection- Learning how to cite pictures and find good political cartoons.

Prompt: Think about your experience using GALILEO to find sources. How was this different from how you have searched for information in the past? Explain how using specific search strategies and evaluating sources impacted the quality of what you found.

Prompt: Think about your experience using GALILEO to find sources. How was this different from how you have searched for information in the past? Explain how using specific search strategies and evaluating sources impacted the quality of what you found. In the past I have used Google as my main search engine to find my sources for past research projects. GALILEO is different because it already automatically give me credible and good sources that I can easily choose from. The quality of the sources is so much better and I can know that my work and the information that I am putting in my work is good. Using key words and good, clean, and clear search phrases made it easier to find what I was trying to find. With the good search terms I can narrow down the sources and clearly find what I want.   Summary- We started to research and find sources for our project. We put them in the google drive and in the Google Doc.  Reflection- Knowing how to cite sources and how to st...

Prompt: Political cartoons often use exaggeration and symbolism to make a point, and they can also serve as important visual sources for analysis. What is being criticized in this image? What does this source suggest about the issue, and what does the cartoonist want the audience to question or reconsider?

Prompt: Political cartoons often use exaggeration and symbolism to make a point, and they can also serve as important visual sources for analysis. What is being criticized in this image? What does this source suggest about the issue, and what does the cartoonist want the audience to question or reconsider? I am assuming this cartoon is criticizing Trump. The cartoon is showing how he only seems to be paying attention to foreign affairs and troubles and not focusing on what is right in front to him. He is not focused on the domestic problems that are happening in this country right now. Trump is ignoring the problems that are close and distracted by the conflict between Israel and Iran.  There is more symbolism in this cartoon. An ICE agent, a elephant shown as "Big Beautiful Bill" and a damaged Uncle Sam. I think these are important to the cartoon because it shows how our country needs help with polical things but Trump is ignoring them.  Summary- We looked at Writable....

Prompt: Think about how you have searched for information in the past compared to what you practiced today. How is creating specific search phrases different from just “Googling” a topic? Explain how this strategy will improve the quality of your research.

Prompt: Think about how you have searched for information in the past compared to what you practiced today. How is creating specific search phrases different from just “Googling” a topic? Explain how this strategy will improve the quality of your research. In the past I did not know where I could get good credible sources for what I was researching. I would just go on good and try and find good websites and not really know what I was doing.  With the site and the good search terms, finding good sources is so much easier  because I know that these sources are credible and educational, and the site narrows it down for you so you can find exactly what you need for your research. My research will be very educational and I don't have to worry about fake sources or information with this site.  Summary- Choosing a topic and navigating the website where we are going to be doing our research.  Reflection- Learning how to properly search for sources and how to navi...

Prompt: Your research question is designed to explore a complex issue. What makes this topic difficult to answer or solve? Identify at least two different perspectives or factors related to your topic and explain why understanding multiple viewpoints is important.

Prompt: Your research question is designed to explore a complex issue. What makes this topic difficult to answer or solve? Identify at least two different perspectives or factors related to your topic and explain why understanding multiple viewpoints is important. The topic is very broad and can have so many different opinions and views on what is good or bad.  Two different perspectives could be like strict parenting is good and then how strict parenting is bad. Having multiple  viewpoints is good for this topic because you can see the good and bad sides of what parenting you want and you can listen to other people  and what their experiences with parenting is.  Summary- We got into groups fro researching.  Reflection- brain storming about our topic.

Prompt: Reflect on your past experiences with research in school. What challenges have you faced when working independently or in a group, and how did you handle them? Explain how those experiences will influence the way you approach this current research project.

Prompt: Reflect on your past experiences with research in school. What challenges have you faced when working independently or in a group, and how did you handle them? Explain how those experiences will influence the way you approach this current research project. My experience with doing research in high school has been pretty good. As long as the assignment is clear and enough time to complete the assignment, its always been good. I think I [refer working alone because I can set myself to a certain standard and reach it on my own. When I work alone I can get all the info i need alone and its much easier for my to complete. Some challenges I faced when working in a group was not everyone did the same amount of work and people just fell behind with what they were working on which lead to other people having to do the work. It really frustrates me when people don't do as much work as other people. Now with my knowledge of how to actually research a topic and were to get sources it...

Prompt: If you could plan the perfect spring break with no limitation, money, time, or responsibilities—what would it look like? Where would you go, who would you bring, and what would you do?

Prompt: If you could plan the perfect spring break with no limitation, money, time, or responsibilities—what would it look like? Where would you go, who would you bring, and what would you do? If I were to plan the perfect Spring break I would want to go to Greece. I really want to go there because of the beautiful landscape and beautiful culture and buildings. I would love to go with some of my best friends because it would be so much fun. Everyday we would go visit a new place and go shopping and go swimming in the beaches. I really would love to go there to experience the beautiful country.

Prompt: McCandless set out to live independently in the wilderness, but his death reveals the harsh reality of nature and survival.   Prompt:  McCandless set out to live independently in the wilderness, but his death reveals the harsh reality of nature and survival. In your blog post, analyze how his desire for independence contributed to his death. Then, connect this idea to your own life by explaining a time when you wanted complete independence or control over a situation. Did things go as planned, or did you face unexpected challenges?  In the movie, Chris wanted so badly to be independent and be by himself and because of the extreme isolation he put himself into, it had consequences.  He was by himself for food and he had to figure out how to nourish his body all by himself which lead him to make careless mistakes. He never wanted help from anyone. When I wanted to plan a fun get together with my friends for my birthday, I thought I could just do it all by myself without the help of my parents. Well the party never happened because I didn't want help and I couldn't plan anything that was rea...

Prompt: How does watching the film version of Into the Wild change or deepen your understanding of Chris McCandless compared to reading the book? In your response, explain one key difference in how his character or experiences are presented, and connect this to a time when seeing something visually changed your understanding of a situation.

Prompt: How does watching the film version of  Into the Wild  change or deepen your understanding of Chris McCandless compared to reading the book? In your response, explain one key difference in how his character or experiences are presented, and connect this to a time when seeing something visually changed your understanding of a situation.n In the book, Chris is more depicted as cold and reckless for his choices. In the film, we see more of the human side to him, and we see more understanding on his relationships with people and we see more connection and he seems less cold in the movie. I visually got to see him struggling and there was more background on his family which brought more insight on the story. I see him as more human because of the way that he seems more authentic and through the visuals in the movie.  Summary- We watched the movie.  Reflection- Finding differences in the film and movie.
