Prompt: Many holidays center around traditions. Describe one tradition that is important to you or your family and explain why it still matters (or why it no longer does). One tradition that is really important to me is going around looking at lights with my family. I love looking at all the different inflatables and lights because they are so beautiful. I love being with my family and its so special to be able to witness a lot of beauty with the people who I love the most. My dad always finds the most spectacular places to go see lights at people's houses, and its always so much fun. I love doing this with my family.

In a well-developed response, explain what you enjoyed most about the class, identify the project or assignment you found most engaging, and discuss which aspect of the course you connected with the most (such as poetry, fiction, writing, or discussion). Finally, reflect on one area where you feel you need additional support or improvement as we move into the spring semester. This first semester course has provided lots of learning growth for me. I really enjoyed this course because learning new things was easy and the concepts were not difficult to understand. What I enjoyed the most about this class is how deep we dove into the meaning of things. Nothing was ever just on there surface, we really dove into to see the deeper, hidden meanings of whatever we were learning. There was a lot of clarity because we always knew what the word meant, of the theme. I feel li...

Prompt: Many holidays center around traditions. Describe one tradition that is important to you or your family and explain why it still matters (or why it no longer does). One of the traditions that me and my family have done of the years is making Christmas cookies. We do this with the whole family and have been doing it since I was little. My mom would make the dough and pump them out into little flowers. The me and my sisters would go and put Christmas sprinkles on the cookies and put candied cherries into the cookies. My dad and mom would help too. Then after they were done we would eat them with ice cream. It has always been one of my favorite Festive traditions. I love this tradition because I get to spend time with my family and have fun making cookies.

Prompt: Write about something you’ve outgrown but still miss.

Prompt: Write about something you’ve outgrown but still miss. Something I definitely have outgrown are my old childhood shows that I used to watch. My old childhood shows just remind me so much of my youth and I just remember how much i used to love these shows. Some of them, my friends would recommend to me and I would love it. I remember one of my friends recommended a show called "Mia and Me" and that would be all I was watching in elementary school. My little pony was a classic too and just all my other shows. I don't watch them anymore but they make me remember how much I used to enjoy them.  summary- I was not here today also, I have been sick, but I know that the vocab test was taken  refection- I was absent.

Prompt: Write about something that you can't stop thinking about.

Prompt:  Write about something that you can't stop thinking about.  Something I cannot stop thinking about is winter break. I am so ready for school to be over and Christmas is my favorite holiday. I love how festive it is and everything about it. I can't wait to sleep in and wake up whenever I want and not have to worry about school or homework. I have some really fun plans over winter break and I am excited to spend time with my family and friends. I am just super excited for it and Christmas. summary- I was not here on Thursday, but I know that we went to the library to pick our next courses.  reflection- I was not here that day.

Prompt: Write about the best gift you have received.

Prompt:  Write about the best gift you have received.  I love it when my parents give me experiences as gifts instead of something that is physical. For example, one year my parents surprised me and my sisters with a trip to Universal Studios in Florida. The experience was so much fun, and we got to see the wonders of Harry Potter World and so much more. I also really enjoy roller coasters so that was lot of fun too. I also remember when we were younger, they took us to Disney world and that was also very fun.   Summary-  Today we did another vocab lesson, and then we worked on our cultural masks.  Reflection- Learning new words and their meanings.

write a blog post reflecting on how the masks in the film represent the pressure to fit in and the struggle to discover who you really are. Choose one moment from the film that stood out to you and explain why. Then, connect the film’s message to Langston Hughes’ poem “I, Too” and to the mask you are creating in class. What part of your identity do you want your mask to reveal?

Choose one moment from the film that stood out to you and explain why. Then, connect the film’s message to Langston Hughes’ poem  “I, Too”  and to the mask you are creating in class. What part of your identity do you want your mask to reveal? The short film Identity  the masks are covering up the peoples faces. All of the masks cover the entire face, obscuring the face and the identity of that person. The masks represent how when you want to fit in, it makes you try and cover up who you really are and you change yourself to be accepted into where every you want to fit in to.  On moment that stood out to me was when we first get a glimpse of the others masks. While the main girl has a bright white mask, with designs on her mask, all the other people we saw had plain one color masks. It stood out to me because it is already ...

What aspect of your cultural identity are you most proud of, and why?

What aspect of your cultural identity are you most proud of, and why? My favorite part of my cultural identity, is probably the food.  I am not at all a picky eater, so I love how diverse the Asian foods are. There are so many different flavors in the food and it just feels very comfortable. I feel like its a part of my culture that I can really connect with. Its easy to connect with something that is mutual when meeting new people. Food in Asian culture is really important because it brings a sense of connection, belonging, and family. Food is something that is very loved and is very deeply rooted in many Asian traditions and in very cultural things. For example in markets, the food stalls are always busy. In many traditions and holidays there are many foods that are specifically made and eaten for that celebration. summary- We did an activity with the poem "We Real Cool" on paper.  reflection- learning what the specific lines in the poem was very interesting to see, a...

Write about a moment in your own life when you followed what looked cool or fun, only to realize afterwards that it wasn’t the smart or responsible path. What influenced your decision, and how did your perspective change later?

Write about a moment in your own life when you followed what looked cool or fun, only to realize afterwards that it wasn’t the smart or responsible path. What influenced your decision, and how did your perspective change later? When I was a sophomore, my friend wanted me to skip class with her and just walk around the school. I thought about it a lot and did not know if it was a good decision because I would be skipping one of my classes that I did not quite understand and it was one of the more important classes. But eventually I agreed because it seemed cool. I later found out that we learned something really important in class that was pretty difficult to learn outside of the teachers instruction. I realized how I should not have skipped class and should have learned to topic. I really felt as though I would seem cool for skipping class because it is so normalized now and I thought it wouldn't be that big of a deal.  summary- Today we prepped to read a poem and then dug d...
